Computer Booking System for Education has been specifically designed to revolutionize way Schools, Colleges and Universities run their open access computing. Product streamlines the library or learning resource centre with fully automated systems, which also help reduce hostile staff/student interaction.

 

The complete solution clubs Web-Based Booking for students, staff, and management and on and off campus users.

Main features of the product include:

  • Booking Spreadsheet allows users/admin to book PC’s as well displays state of PC’s.
  • Session length at client is constantly monitored with warning messages followed by an auto log-off at end of the booking.
  • Administrators can monitor the connected users at a given time
  • Product allows for flexible licensing.
  • Authentication against ADS & NDS
  • Comprehensive reports that can be extracted into CSV format
  • Product authentication seamlessly integrated with Windows and Novell Logon process on desktops

Challenges
  • Multi-Technology Support and Integration Product components viz. Server, Web Module and Client have been developed in Java, ASP.Net using C# and VC++ respectively.
  • Overwriting the GINA DLL The client comes with its own version of GINA DLL, which overrides the underlying GINA which can be MSGINA of windows , NWGINA of Novell, RMGINA of Research Machines and any other
  • NDS and ADS Integration Product has a backward compatibility for existing authentication against ADS and NDS
  • Booking Spreadsheet The booking displays all the PC’s in location. The web spreadsheet has been designed for performance having enormous database hits scored in single display
  • iSPY allows remotely viewing of the client machine desktop
  • Client Server Network Communication Robust support for huge client-server networks
  • Import Users from LDAP Server The Product Users are imported from LDAP servers

    Achievements

    PSI managed the complete product engineering for the Product; resulted in commercially successful product. This product became the number second brand in the market within 1 year of its launch.

     

    The team worked on the requirements received from client. The complete delivery process circumvents the team’s role in Requirements Analysis, Designing (UML), Coding, Quality Assurance and Bug-Fixing.

     

    PSI actively provided the post sales support wherein successfully catered to the challenges of real time end customer product deployment, trouble shooting and product support services.

     

    The product was successfully installed at over 30 universities & libraries.
