Overview


PSI has a very strong domain knowledge and expertise in DAB/DAB+. We have provide solutions on various functional modules and tools on DAB to enhance the functional area and management of DAB applications much flexible and versatile.


Some of the implementations were highly customized to meet the need of the industry. Small descriptions on some of the modules are described here:

 

1. Conditional Access System
In CAS, we scramble the ETI data using well defined (AES) algorithms and put it together with ECM (Entitlement Control Message) and EMM (Entitlement Management Message - management information for the Receiver End) and transmit the packets across.


The registered user or listener (who is registered in EMM) will decode the data and will be able to listen it. The ECM is been used to decode the data at receiver end and EMM has all the information about the all registered users.

 

2. ETI (Ensemble Transport Interface) Delay Application

The application works in two parts, i.e, ETI Capture and Sub-Channel Extractor.

ETI Capture captures the Ensemble data (ETI frames) from the various sources and store it in the hard drive (file format) using a circular buffer so that it will have a maximum of last 42 days data in its buffer.

Sub-Channel Extractor extracts the ETI frames from the Store based on the requested Sub-Channel and multicasts these frames to SMR with the requested time delay.

 

3. ETI switch Application

The main goal of ETI seamless switch is to provide automatic seamless switching of ETI output from the main multiplexer to the standby multiplexer or manually at the request of the customer. It also have options to receive and transmit streams via Over IP or EDDI (user can select any of them).

 

3. ETI over IP

The ETI over IP (ETI Multicast) service provided in Ensemble Multiplexer to get ETI frames over given Multicast base Address and PORT number. User can configure multicast base Address and PORT using MUX_SetUp.exe and the combination of services would be running in EMUX as well.

 

4. 42 Day Recorder

The project shall have 3 components:

  • User Administrator shall enable user to add/modify user credentials.
  • Extractor Daemon is server and shall be used to “feed” the clients.
  • ETI Extractor Client asks the server for a specified ETI component or may be ETI frame.
